We talk about the importance of scholarship, siblinghood and service but there is a consistent misunderstanding of the purpose of our chapters and councils and how to unify our community to be more transparent about history and culture? CBFO’s bring about social change and personal development for communities of color, but we are distracted by individual agendas. In this session participants will have critical conversations around the need for our organizations and how to come together as a collective!

Why would you share my most vulnerable experience with people who don't even believe your life matters? Talking about sex is difficult. Talking about sexual violence and how it can be perpetuated in CBFOs is even more difficult. During this program participants will have a conversation about what members of CBFOs believe about sexual violence, consent, and survivor support. The reasons why we need to protect our own have been proven over and over again. Where do we go from here?

Being a student leader can be a jarring experience. Its easy to get defeated when you can’t always predict your outcome. This program will walk students through how to navigate their emotions while having intentional interactions in their community. Students will also learn more about the value of taking care of themselves through their experience and the power that is within their impact.

Lead Facilitators serve as the heart of a retreat or an institute. Their primary responsibilities include managing the entire experience, balancing logistical responsibilities, and facilitating overall learning of session participants.
